The Project
Calvary Chapel Delaware County, otherwise known as "ccdelco" reached out to us for a website redesign. COVID-19 had made them realize the importance of a strong and usable web presence they can not only rely on, but also build out in the future. Their current website was old, outdated, clunky, slow, and...well you get the picture. It was time for a design facelift and revamp to how they utilize their online communications.
We met with them in November 2020 to kick off the project and discover who they are as a brand and organization. In the initial meeting, we extracted design preferences, helped them refine their brand by asking them key questions (see the slides at the end of the case study), and consolidated what they did and where they were going. We sat with this information for a couple weeks to compile and strategize.
The Work
We presented them with a site map and wireframe that was a digital sketch and layout of what we imagined their new site would look like. Because they were wanting to get rid of their app, we felt that by using an app-like feel (using tiles, rounded corners, etc) it would bring a familiarity to the site that would be easier to navigate for all age groups and be more in line with their brand.
Throughout the process, information was removed, consolidated, and re-organized resulting in a decrease of around 20 pages from their old site. Key/primary information were given pages to add value. Secondary information was given sections on relevant pages. Extra, non-relevant information was removed entirely. The result? A streamlined website for a church of over 1,500 people that is easy to navigate, simple to use, information-rich, yet clutter-less. A platform that consolidated sign-up processes, accurately reflects their newly refined brand, and informs their users in a strategic & digestible way.
A Glimpse
This is pretty
cool right?
